• Do you take insurance?

While I am not in-network with insurance providers, I offer clients superbills to receive out-of-network reimbursement. Most insurances offer 50%-80% reimbursement for out-of-network coverage. I recommend calling your insurance and asking the following questions:

    * Do my benefits include out-of-network coverage for outpatient therapy?

    * What is the out-of-network deductible, and when does it apply?

    * Once I reach my deductible, what percentage is covered for out-of-network therapy?

  • How often are sessions and where do they take place?

I recommend consistent, weekly therapy at the beginning of our work. Consistency is key, especially as we do the deeper therapeutic work and build our relationship. I offer both in-person therapy in Midtown Manhattan and remotely through telehealth.

  • What does a session with you look like?

Therapy with me is engaging and collaborative. While I provide validation, I'll also gently guide you to self-reflection. We'll explore your role in different dynamics and delve into those hard-to-ask questions that can lead to deeper understanding. Sometimes, pausing and focusing on the present moment can be incredibly helpful. Sessions may include mindful breathing exercises to reset the nervous system in the here and now.

  • I've never been to therapy. What can I expect?

I understand how taking that first step to begin therapy is daunting. Therapy is a confidential space, which often involves delving into your emotions, even the uncomfortable ones. This can be uncomfortable at times, as we're often used to avoiding or pushing down difficult feelings. However, together, we will learn to feel our emotions instead of using past coping behaviors to numb them.

  • What is your approach to the client-therapist relationship?

I view my clients as active agents in their own healing process, with the power to create meaningful change. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where that healing can unfold. I believe the relationship between client and therapist serves as a microcosm for the changes that can take place in relationships outside the therapy room. Therapy is not something that is “done” to my clients, but rather something we do together. Our time together should be treated as your personal, sacred space for reflection and growth each week. While I may offer suggestions or feedback when I feel it could support your goals, I am also open to sharing my thoughts and experiences about our dynamic. (If you are looking for the type of therapist who is a blank slate, I am probably not a fit!)

  • What are your fees?

My rate is $200 for a 50-minute individual session and $240 for couples. Accessibility to mental healthcare is important to me, I do offer sliding scale spots based on financial need. Please reach out for more information.

  • How long should I be in therapy?

The therapeutic healing journey is just that, a journey, not a destination. I recommend at least a 6-month commitment for therapeutic progress. Ultimately, the length of your journey will be unique and determined by your individual needs and goals. Please note that I do not offer drop in style therapy.
